Pyroxenite used as Dual flux for palletization. The tailor-made dual flux, developed through thermodynamic modelling, works well for a wide variety of iron-ore fines. The innovation resulted in a 12-percent increase in the productivity of the pellet plant.
Dolomite consumption is 100 Kg/ ton in blast furnace and 50 kg/ton in Sinter plant. With introduction of Pyroxenite, Dolomite consumption would be stopped in blast furnace. Direct benefits of pyroxenite same MgO and high silica as Dolomite.
